The premise is simple: Place an easily recognized, virtually universal garment on figure models and explore how each person brings unique and interesting interpretations.

This is the stage for The Shawl Project , a collaborative project between fine art photographers Ginni Savalli and Jeff Klingler. The models are everyday people from all ages, races, and walks of life. The artistic interpretation comes from two photographic artists with very different styles and printing techniques working with the same models at the same time. The thread that binds them all together is a beautiful hand made shawl. The results are sometimes sensual, other times spiritual, sometimes reflecting strength or beauty, and other times yielding abstract forms.
